In the same way, if you tell yourself that I will exercise today at 3:00 PM then this order is given by your conscious mind. 

Now it’s up to the subconscious mind whether it wants to exercise or not.

This is where your subconscious mind will do all the calculations, for example, 

  • Whether you like doing exercise
  • When Did you last exercise, 
  • How you felt when you exercised last time, 
  • Whether you have time or not, and lastly
  • What will you get from doing exercise?

Now, you don’t see these actions but your subconscious mind does all these in the background and in the end, either you will exercise or you will give excuses.

For example, 

I’m tired today, so I will exercise tomorrow at 7:00 AM for sure and this will go on and on but you will never exercise.

Unless and until, you become aware of yourself and the excuses you have been giving for ages.

Joseph Murphy talks about Visualization and affirmations, he says, this is the best way to train your subconscious mind and get the most out of it.

For example, 

If you’re having a hard time doing exercise every day then watch motivational videos about exercise, write down your thoughts on paper about why you don’t feel like doing exercise, and most importantly, do this every day till you start exercising.

This is called affirmations. You’re telling your subconscious mind that exercise is an important task that you have to do to live a healthier life.

Now, the problem is, if you haven’t exercised ever then your subconscious mind won’t listen and that’s why you have to remind your mind every day.

As I have said, watch some videos on the benefits of exercise, and read books about it.

I know, this doesn’t feel like a solution but if you do it for 10 to 20 days then you will start seeing results.

So try this out in anything whether you want to start exercise, reading, meditation, or anything else.

Power of Belief

From the day you are born, you have seen GOD’s picture at your home or outside. It doesn’t matter whether you’re Hindu, Muslim, or Christian, what matters is, you believe that there is GOD.

Now, you’re 40-year-old men and if someone tells you, there is no GOD then you won’t believe it, you will argue till you leave. 

You will talk about things, Mahabharat, Ramayan, Shrimad Bhagwat Gita, and the Bible but you won’t believe there is no GOD because you have read books on GOD, your parents told you that there is god, and you went to temples when you started walking.

What I’m trying to say is, you believe that there is GOD.

In the same way, if you believe in yourself then it will be very hard to break you and you will reach your goals.

So believe in yourself more than anything else.

Why The Law of Attraction Doesn’t Work

The Law of Attraction is a fantastic concept but it doesn’t work if you don’t work on it.

For example, if you want to read a book then you will have to pick the book and start reading it.

You can’t just sit on the sofa and tell yourself that you want to read the book and the book will come to you, no, you have to pick up the book to read it.

In the same way, if you want to achieve your goals then you will have to work on them. No one will come to you and say, hey, you sit there, I will work on your goals.

Let me give you my example,

I wanted to start a website about books but I thought 2020 wasn’t the right time. So I waited till 2021 and still, I didn’t start the website.

Now, it was November 2021 and this is where I thought, okay, if you don’t feel like starting the website now then just buy the domain name and later, you can do whatever you want.

So I bought BookiesTalk.Com in December 2021 and guess what, I started working on this website at the end of December 2021.

What happened is, I took one step and my Subconscious Mind was like, oh, you wanted to start a website for a long time and now, you have a website, so what you’re waiting for, start writing on it.

What I’m trying to say is, if you think that I want to do this or that then it won’t happen automatically, you have to get up and start working on that project otherwise, someone else will.

Placebo effect

If you believe in GOD and if you’re having a hard time, at the same time, if you visit a temple and if the Guru says, don’t worry your hard time is about its end and you will soon see light.

That last line “You Will Soon See the light” will change your Belief system and you will think positively about everything afterward. 

The fact is, nothing has changed, the only thing that has happened is that the Guru who you believe talks with GOD tells you “things will be good”

This is what the Placebo effect means.

I mean, when you’re 10 years OLD and your mother tells you that, eat this and your stomach pain will go away and you eat those things and after an hour, you will be like, it does work, I feel pain at all.

In 2014, Oxford University Press did research on the Placebo effect and they found out

“The placebo effect is a well-documented phenomenon in which a patient experiences an improvement in symptoms simply because they believe they are receiving treatment. Studies have shown that the placebo effect is largely driven by the power of the patient’s subconscious mind to influence their perception of pain and other physical sensations”
