Do Epic Shit Summary
I’ve been following Ankur Warikoo for about a year now and when I come to know, that he has announced the book, I immediately pre-ordered it and it took me only a day to finish. I usually don’t complete any book in a day but this was a bit different because it was about failures.
I believe It’s better to learn from someone else’s mistake rather than repeating the same in our life. Ankur Warikoo has shared his mistakes about money, business, and time.
Now, let’s see some of the core lessons from the book.
- Time passes every second, so whatever you want to do, start now.
- Don’t get comfortable doing the same thing, try to do something new.
- Life can be hard but it’s not the end of the world.
- Don’t run after goals, run after habits, improve every day, goals will come after you.
- It’s better to spend time with family because one day you regret it.
- Compounding can take time but when it’s done, you don’t have to work again.
- Start Investing as soon as you can for a better future.
- Start a business because you want to start, don’t start because everyone is doing it.
- Don’t be afraid of falling.
Time Won’t Come Back
Everyone has a dream but everyone won’t go after their dreams because some of them are afraid and some of them don’t believe in them.
So if you have goals and if you believe in them then don’t think much and start today or better start now.
Ankur Warikoo 2nd book: Get Epic Shit Done Summary
Don’t say, I will start tomorrow and then tomorrow comes and you will be like, not today, maybe, next week, and one day, you will forget about it.
Time is now, time will be tomorrow but you won’t stay here forever, one day time will pass and you will end up with regrets, so don’t be that guy who complains a lot about “I don’t have time”.
Respect time…
Don’t Run After Goals, Run After Habits
Yes, I do set goals and I want to complete the goals in a particular time frame.
Let’s say, you want to wake up at 6:00 AM every day, so to do that, you have to go to sleep at 10:00 PM. This way, you won’t feel tired all day but if you go to sleep at 2:00 AM then you won’t be waking up at 6:00 and even if you do, your day will get ruined.
Next time, you won’t bother to wake up at 6:00 AM.
So work on habits, even small habits can make a huge impact, you won’t see the small changes now but when time goes by, you will start seeing the results.
The same can be applied to exercise, you won’t get the results on the first day but after a month or two, you will notice the changes.
So focus on small habits, and in the end, you will be close to your goals.
Money
Don’t go after money, work every day, and money will come after you.
Everyone says, how to save money but no one tells you, what to do with that money. Most people will start FD rather than investing in Stock Market or even in mutual funds because no one has ever told them, what to do next with money.
Ankur Warikoo has also made many mistakes with money which you will learn from the book.
Sometimes, a new smartphone can make us happy, and sometimes a cup of coffee, so try to avoid all of these things. Don’t rely on materialistic things. If you can be happy without products then you will save lots of money and the same can be used for your business idea or even for investment.
Do Epic Shit Book Review
The book has written in such a way that you don’t have to read from start, you can read from anywhere. It’s also written in a simple way, so you will be able to understand everything, for beginner readers, this would be the perfect book to start your reading journey.
I can go on & on but I will stop here, so if you haven’t read the book then go grab your copy from Amazon and start reading it. It will teach you a lot.
What I learned from Do Epic Shit Book
I have read tons of self-help books but I feel, this is a bit different because I’m following the author for a while, so I can see, his face while reading it.
- Focus on the Long term, shorts term can misguide you sometimes.
- Work every day on goals, if you miss today, you might miss the day after, so work on goals and make them part of your life.
- Don’t go after money.
- Time is money, use it very wisely.
