Ego Is the Enemy Summary
The problem with overnight success is that, most people don’t know how to handle it.
They might feel different, they might think differently, they might treat people differently, and they might spend money differently.
Now, this is that time when one should observe, it could be friends, people around you, and even yourself.
Don’t get carried away with money, emotion, people, a house, or anything else.
Nothing has changed, you are what you were a day ago, you’re breathing the air, and you’re eating food.
When you have money, you might buy a big house, eat-in big restaurant, or go to a different country for a vacation and that’s it, your body won’t change, but your thought might change and this is what you need to observe.

Get Out of Your Own Mind
There will be a time in your life when you think, I know everything, why should I learn more?
This is that time when you should spend more time with yourself and find out why you’re thinking like that.
It’s never late to ask questions even to yourself.
No one knows everything, people are learning every day and so can you. Learn every day, ask questions to yourself, and to other people, and don’t make the same mistakes in the future.
This is the only way to progress, there is no other way around it. Be a student, always…
Make it So You Don’t Have to Fake it
You might have heard “Fake until you make it”.
Yep, don’t do that, this will add another layer to your mind and you will think about it every day.
If you want to archive your goals then do it, don’t lie about it.
If you believe in yourself then you will finish it one day.
Don’t go outside and say, I have archived everything in my life, this will give stress and anxiety till you finish your goals.
When We Remove Ego
Let’s say, you think, you have everything from money to a pretty wife.
One day, one random guy comes to you and says, I have more money than you, I have a prettier wife than yours, I have a better life than yours.
Now, tell me, what do you think about it?
Here, what the author is trying to say is,
Forget about that random person and be happy with what you have, and don’t get jealous of that person.
I know, it’s hard to do but hey, this will make you free and you will be able to live your life without any problems.
Ego Is the Enemy Review
I feel, there is no need to read every single self-help book but if you haven’t read many then the Ego Is the Enemy is one of those books which you should read.
The author is not saying anything new, it’s already there in lots of self-help books. So as I have said, if you haven’t read many self-help books then give it a try otherwise, it’s better to save money as well as time.
The Ego Is the Enemy Book Quotes
“I was trapped so terribly inside my own head that I was a prisoner to my own thoughts”
“A person who thinks all the time has nothing to think about except thoughts, so he loses touch with reality and lives in a world of illusions.”
“Those who have subdued their ego understand that it doesn’t degrade you when others treat you poorly; it degrades them.”
Love What You Read, You Might Like These too…
The author is a Stoic. I am also trying to be a Stoic in my life. Stoicism is something which helped in my bad times. The basic concept of it : don’t bother about things you can’t control .
Cheers. Always love your work .
