Think of it as a self-help bible—not just a collection of lessons, but a guide to transforming your life.

5 Big Ideas from Everything Is F*cked

  1. You will never be unhappy if you stop expecting anything from anyone.
  2. If you want to change the world and the people around you then first, start the change with yourself.
  3. Change yourself as time passes, don’t be stuck in a loophole. ex; if you’re running an offline business then find a way to list your shop on Amazon or start your own e-commerce website.
  4. Whatever problems you have is all because of one emotion, so see within yourself why you’re feeling the way you’re and find a solution for it.
  5. When it comes to your health, don’t listen to your feeling brain, always listen to your Thinking brain.

All the Problems are Emotional Problems

You’re happy because you got news about something, you’re sad because you got the news about something, and the same, you’re angry because you got the news about something.

Now, if we remove emotion from the human brain then we will become robots, so the big question is, how to deal with Emotional Problems…

The simple solution would be to accept the problem you have and find a solution for it,

The opposite would be, avoiding the problems you have and focusing on your work, playing games, watching movies, or doing any other activities rather than accepting the problems.

Exercise for today,

Sit down for the movement, take a pen and paper, and write down whatever you’re feeling in that movement,

Example;

  • I hate my job because I’m not getting enough salary, I don’t like the industry I’m working in, or I don’t like the environment of my office.
  • I want to exercise every day but I don’t have time.
  • I want to read books but I have to read.
  • I want to start a business but I don’t have money.

Just write it down and see whether the problems you have is faced by someone in the past or not and if the answer is YES then find out why they solve their problems.

The only thing you will have to do is, accept your problems and the rest will be fine.

Change = Pain

If you want to wake up every day at 4:00 AM then you will have to go to bed at 9:00 AM.

Now if you’re a night owl then you will have to make a huge change in your lifestyle. It could be eating early, exercising on time, staying away from the internet before 8:00 PM, and so on.

So you see if you want to make a change then it won’t be very easy.

The same goes for starting exercise for the first time, reading a book for the first time, and doing business for the first time.

Whatever you do for the first time or make a big change, you will feel pain.

So the moral of the story is, be aware of a change and the pain you will feel, this, you will be prepared for the pain, nothing else.

Expectations are Thief of Joy

If you ask me, what did you learn from Everything Is F*cked by Mark Manson then it would be, “never ever, expect anything from anyone except yourself.”

ex;

Let’s say, I promised myself that I will finish 1 book every month. So here, what I did is, I promised myself something, and even if I don’t complete that task then I will get upset but with myself, and from next time, I will make sure that I don’t repeat the same mistake again.

Now, if I expect something from someone and that person doesn’t deliver the same then I will get upset with that person. The Problem is, I don’t know whether that person will repeat the same mistake in the future or not, so I don’t want to give the power to someone to make me upset.

So better, in the first place, I won’t expect anything from anyone, if someone does what I say then it’s okay, and even if someone doesn’t that it’s also okay…

Everything Is F*cked Review

After reading The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck, I become a huge fan of Mark Manson’s writing and his thoughts but after reading Everything Is F*cked, I felt that this book wasn’t necessarily needed in the first place.

Everything Is F*cked doesn’t give you anything new out of the box, whatever Mark Manson has provided in this book is already available in lots of self-help books.

Nonetheless, this would be a good read for those who have never read a single self-help book in their life or have never watched any motivational videos on youtube.
